This is a three-part collection of patristic counsels compiled by Bishop Alexander (Mileant) on the basis of the Philokalia, The Ladder of Divine Ascent, the Spiritually Beneficial Teachings of Abba Dorotheus, and other ascetic sources. The counsels were selected with laypeople in mind, arranged by author (in chronological order, beginning with St. Anthony the Great), and organized by themes of faith, hope, and love.
